The primary supertasks

The three supertasks of       memory, sentence processing, and reasoning provide support for the overall reading process but do not directly produce the three-part output representation. This is accomplished by the primary supertasks--these create the set of representations intended to capture the meaning of the text. The control supertask integrates the others, manages resources, and produces a reflective representation of what activity the reasoner underwent during story comprehension. story structure comprehension is responsible for maintaining a representation of the text which reflects its identity as a story; i.e., it has certain features, such as a protagonist. Last, scenario comprehension maintains a representation of the story as a set of coherent events.
