Next: Representing Knowledge in Creative
Up: Related work in reading
Previous: Explanation-based reasoning
This chapter has been long through the necessity
of presenting a wide range of work from
multiple disciplines. Even so, I have
not presented a single theory which
captures all of the aspects which I claimed
(in Chapter 1)
to be required for a creative reading
system to exist. Prior attempts have
focused on pieces of that problem. As
Chapter 5 will show,
I make use of many of the ideas examined in
this chapter in order to produce
the framework I utilize in my research.
Before presenting that synthesis,
however, the next chapter develops the
elements of my theory directly related
to the knowledge representation which
are required for creative reading to
be modeled.
