Self-evaluation of agents

Finally, the post-testing questionnaire gave us another factor to consider in the analysis of the results. The participants were asked to rate themselves   in terms of interest in reading, interest in science fiction, and interest in science fiction reading. Rankings were on a five-level scale, ranging from not interested to extremely high interest. However, no significant effects were discovered when considering these self-ratings. Two reasons may exist for this. First, the students may not have been working with different perspectives of exactly what something like ``average'' interest or ``high'' interest is. Second, the interest level of a participant may not influence their reading ability, especially on stories of the short lengths that these were. This is one facet of the overall evaluation which I would like to continue to explore, perhaps in a follow-up study with more exact metrics for determining a reader's interest and relating that to their overall reading ability.
